In the mid-1950s, Swedish agriculture changed rapidly. Agricultural machinery, fertilizer, and cultivation methods were developed, and farms grew rapidly. Feed handling was also rationalized and adapted to large-scale operations. Farmers moved from handling animal feed in sacks to storing feed in silos.
MAFA built its first silos in the late fifties and also developed a feed mixer so that farms could produce their own feed. There and then, the journey towards the international company that MAFA is today began. In 1978, Mats Andersson took over as owner, and owned it until 2023. Then Mats’ daughters Ellen and Johanna took over as owners, so MAFA remains family-owned by the Andersson family.

MAFA is today the market leader in Sweden and more than 50% of the production is exported. Today we are a supplier of both individual parts and complete system solutions with everything from design to assembly.
We manufacture most of it in our own factory in Ängelholm, Skåne and we have our own designers who can draw and construct customized solutions for your needs. We offer both manuals, CE marking and Atex assistance.
