MAFA Big is a Swedish-made silo with a robust design and high durability. It is manufactured from strong steel plate coated with aluminum and zinc – a material that provides significantly longer service life than traditional galvanization. The silo has a smooth interior for optimal emptying and is designed to handle materials up to 750 kg/m³ as standard, but can be adapted for higher densities. Constructed to last, adapted to perform
The hard and smooth surface of the steel reduces friction, ensuring safe and consistent emptying. Its reflective surface minimizes the impact of solar heat, keeping the feed cool and preserving quality throughout the entire storage period. The standard model handles materials with a bulk density of up to 750 kg/m³ but can be reinforced for heavier loads, making MAFA Big ideal for storing feed, grain, and other materials.
The smooth interior, special bolts, steep cone, and the MAFA UNIK Auger Box ensure mass flow according to the First In – First Out (FIFO) principle. This allows switching between different types of feed without emptying the silo, while preserving feed quality and minimizing separation. Gentle filling via a long-radius bend and large cyclone provides additional protection of the feed and simplifies handling.
Natural ventilation inside the silo creates an optimal climate, reducing condensation and keeping the feed dry and hygienic throughout the entire storage period. For high hygiene and improved animal health, the cyclones are designed to minimize dust and keep pests out.
With a wide range of screw boxes and flexible storage volumes, MAFA UNIK Big can be adapted to the needs of the farm and integrated seamlessly with existing equipment. The result is a durable, practical, and future-proof silo that simplifies daily work on the farm while ensuring efficient, safe, and quality-preserving storage of large volumes of feed, grain, and other materials.
