MAFA agitators are designed to improve the discharge of sluggish and cohesive materials in, for example, MAFA screw boxes. This solution is particularly useful when handling specialty feed or home-produced feed. Agitators are generally not required for factory-produced feed.
A 3-phase worm gear motor slowly rotates a shaft equipped with stirring pins. The rotation creates movement in the material, allowing it to flow more easily into the screw conveyor. Our agitators can also be retrofitted into existing screw boxes.
The MAFA worm gear motor requires minimal maintenance and is engineered to provide an optimal balance between capacity, power, gear ratio, torque, and durability. MAFA worm gear motors are suitable for operating temperatures between -25°C and +40°C.
The electric motor is manufactured according to IEC standards and has an IP55 protection rating. This means it can be installed in dusty and humid environments, including outdoor applications. However, it is recommended to place the motor under cover to prevent water ingress through shafts and fans. All MAFA motors are equipped with thermal overload protection.
