During 2024, MAFA has delivered two wood powder silos with accompanying screw solutions to NCC’s asphalt plant in Falun, with a capacity to store approximately 330 m³. This is part of their overall effort to become 100% CO2-neutral and take steps toward a sustainable future. Asphalt production is one of the largest sources of emissions within the construction sector, but by thinking innovatively and technically ahead, NCC has found new ways to reduce its environmental impact. By replacing oil with wood powder for heating aggregate materials, they take a significant step toward reducing their carbon dioxide emissions and increasing energy efficiency. This work began already 10 years ago, when NCC started using wood powder in its asphalt production. Since then, they have continued to invest in technical solutions that not only reduce their CO2 emissions but also pave the way for others in the industry to follow.
MAFA is proud to be part of this transition by delivering sustainable, technical solutions.
